Job Summary:
At Tessitura, the Innovation Group's mission is to build Tessitura's product and technology innovation pipeline from identification of need, through ideation, product development, engineering, infrastructure, quality assurance, deployment, and feedback/iteration cycles, ensuring that we deliver continually innovated technology to our members, ecosystem partners, and team members.

Within the Innovation Group, our Product team's mission is to build innovative solutions that deliver exceptional business value to our community of arts and cultural organizations, enabling them to be more efficient and effective in serving their missions.

Principal Product Managers are key leaders. Each Principal Product Manager brings vision to their respective vertical and is responsible for gathering internal and external stakeholder input and competitive market analysis, then translating that input into product strategy which drives our members' effectiveness and adoption of Tessitura products and then translating that strategy into an actionable product roadmap.

As Principal Product Manager for Payments at Tessitura Network, you will lead our dedicated Payments team, working collaboratively to deliver industry-leading payment experiences across the entire arts and culture ecosystem. You'll contribute to the strategic evolution of Tessitura Merchant Services (our payment processing solution in partnership with Adyen) and payment capabilities, ensuring every financial transaction is secure while providing seamless operations for our members and their customers.

The Principal Product Manager role also creates user stories and manages the product backlog to ensure that both feature work and day-to-day maintenance needs are prioritized accordingly. You will work very closely with the engineering team and operational internal teams to ensure that we are delivering on a timely basis.
 

Specific Responsibilities:
  • Coalesces member feedback, industry experience, and market research to build a product strategy and roadmap by collaborating with the Payments Team leadership to define and execute the product vision for payment experiences onsite and online.
  • Contributes to the unified product roadmap and vision for the Tessitura platform, which provides visibility and guides strategy across the company.
  • Facilitates our product development process, including coalescing member research and feedback to understand payment pain points and opportunities, and applying industry experience, market research, and metrics to build a product strategy and roadmap.
  • Prioritizes projects and features, ensuring that we deliver the highest value to the most users, balanced with our product roadmap, business objectives, and strategy.
  • Communicates effectively internally and externally about product strategy, roadmap, releases, defects, and broader product evolution.
  • Conducts analysis in order to translate complex member workflows into clear product requirements and user stories for the engineering team.
  • Manages and prioritizes the product backlog balancing feature work with day-to-day maintenance including defects and question cards.
  • Creates and manages KPIs for new feature adoption and build product strategies to achieve our goals.
  • Collaborates on ensuring payment compliance across all regions in which Tessitura operates.
  • Collaborates with the Innovation group, defining the business goals and necessary scope of roadmap items so that the engineering team can create realistic timelines and estimates.
  • Partners with the Tessitura Merchant Services Operations team to align product development with service delivery.
  • Works closely with Product Marketing, Learning and other Tessitura departments (Member Success, Support, On-Boarding and Consulting) to translate new features/releases into trainable and successfully adopted features.
  • Supports Growth Team's initiatives on competitive positioning and go-to-market strategies for payment features.

Required Skills and Experience:
  • 8+ years of product management experience, preferably in B2B SaaS and/or payment technology or related experience
  • Understanding of payment processing, including compliance requirements (PCI, DSS), fraud prevention and financial reconciliation
  • Expertise in payment industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies (digital wallets, alternative payment methods, etc.)
  • Experience working collaboratively with engineering teams to deliver technical products
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to use data to inform product decisions
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with ability to work effectively in team environments

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in nonprofit, arts and culture or mission-driven organizations
  • Experience with the Adyen payment processing platform
  • Understanding of CRM, ticketing, of fundraising workflows
  • Knowledge of international payment processing and regional requirements
  • Experience with Tessitura Software
  • Familiarity with AWS cloud services and modern API architecture
  • Experience with integrations of modern ecommerce payment methods and fraud prevention
