Job Summary
The Hosting Services (Platform) team maintains Tessitura Network's mission critical hosting environments for 600+ organizations world-wide. Under the direction of the Manager of Hosting Technology, the Systems (Network) Engineer participates in technology transformation projects and day-to-day maintenance of services and infrastructure, working closely with Hosting/Platform, InfoSec, Software Engineering, and Quality Assurance teams to design, build and deploy cloud infrastructure and application services. The Systems (Network) Engineer will primarily support the networking and firewall services within the Hosting environment and will serve as an escalation resource for Systems Administrators.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate extensive technical knowledge in network engineering along with experience administering firewalls, Amazon Web Services, Linux, and Windows Server environments. They will have experience working in a 24/7/365 environment and supporting a highly available database-backed application and will operate from an automation-first mindset.

Specific Responsibilities
- Act as Service Lead for networking and firewalls.
- Own assigned services and service level objectives, including the design and architecture, implementation, and ongoing operation of specifically named technologies.
- Lead the troubleshooting and resolution of complex network issues to ensure maximum uptime and performance.
- Contribute to and maintain Infrastructure as Code repositories and other workload automations.
- Analyze and troubleshot network performance, usage, traffic flows, and access.
- Participate in design and build projects and continuous improvement efforts to ensure resiliency and scalability of platform environments.
- Work with SRE team to develop and implement observability and monitoring for network and firewall services.
- Create, update, and audit documentation as required.
- Engage and escalate to vendors for service restoration.
- Follow defined processes for incident and change management.
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule (approximately two nights per month and one weekend every other month).
- Travel two to three times per year for meetups and conferences as needed.
- 5+ years' experience with networking and enterprise-scale cloud infrastructure.
- 3+ years' experience managing and configuring Palo Alto next-gen firewall.s
- Expertise in protocols and services including TCP/IP, BGP, DNS, and NAT.
- Production experience in Amazon Web Services, including VPCs and subnets, Gateway Load Balancers, Route35, compute, and storage.
- Working knowledge of Linux, Microsoft Windows Server, and other solutions as necessary to fulfill job responsibilities.
- Solid understanding of IT compliance, information security, and risk management.
- Clear and concise oral and written communication to all levels of the organization.
- Management and delivery of tasks for multiple concurrent projects.
- Working independently and as a team member in a high-performance, always-available environment.
- Effective collaboration with peers, cross-functional teams and team leaders to achieve end-to-end product and process quality.
- Ability to apply knowledge and experience to recommend custom solutions to new business problems. Decisions made can have an enterprise-wide impact.
- Experience with SSL certificate management in an enterprise environment.
- Experience with network automation using Infrastructure as Code tools (CDK, CloudFormation, Terraform).
- Experience automating tasks with PowerShell, BASH, or Python.
- Experience supporting highly available applications (APIs and Microservices).
- Familiarity with and interest in DevOps and SRE principles and practices.
- Previous participation in technology transformation activities.
- Palo Alto PCNSA certification.
- AWS Certification (AWS Networking, SysOps or Solutions Architect).
