Job Summary
The Tessitura Technical Solutions Team seeks an experienced technical manager to serves as Director, Web Solutions and lead our team of web developer consultants. The Web Solutions team provides software customizations that enable member organizations to expand their use of the TNEW (Tessitura Network Express Web) ecommerce solution and Tessitura platform. The team utilizes the TNEW Customization Framework, Tessitura Custom Screen Framework, and Tessitura REST API to build innovative solutions based on the needs of our members. The team works closely with Tessitura application consultants and developers in Tessitura's Innovation team.

The Web Solutions Director is responsible for leading a team of web developers within a larger consulting practice and will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of Tessitura customizations. A successful Director will provide technical and managerial leadership to the Web Solutions team with the goal of providing timely and reliable technical solutions to our members. Working in close collaboration with leadership, they will craft and refine the principles, tools and practices necessary to achieve these goals.

The ideal candidate is a strong leader who can develop talent and build capacity within the team, advocate for improvements to our platforms and technologies, and ensure a positive experience for our members. Experience working to deliver web solutions in a consulting environment is strongly desired. Critical to this role is the ability to influence senior leaders through analysis and recommendations.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to the web solutions team, including managing project delivery, defining and managing to KPIs, and supporting overall team structure.
  • Lead a team of developers in the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of TNEW customizations and extensions.
  • Manage day-to-day activities and performance of team members under direct supervision, including onboarding, ongoing training, career development, coaching, and reviews.
  • Act as delivery manager for customization projects led by team members under direct supervisions, with a focus on delivering high quality results on time, on budget, and to the satisfaction of our members.
  • Oversee the documentation of business requirements, technical specifications, and project estimates to ensure the delivery of consistent service and project success for extension development and customizations.
  • Work with the appropriate engineering team leads to ensure the frameworks being developed meet the needs of the web solutions teams.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team leads to enable the web solutions team to work with the engineering team to implement framework enhancements.
  • Proactively analyze and review emerging technologies, changes in the industry and the business functions of various clients, ensuring proposed solutions are aligned with the unique goals and objectives of our diverse member community.
  • Develop and maintain technical knowledge through training, classes, and mentoring of staff members on technical approaches and development best practices.
  • Work with the team to achieve hours goals each month and submit hours and reimbursable expenses in a timely manner.
  • Some off-work hours will be required for code administration and international client support.
  • May require travel up to three of four times per year for meetups and conferences (as needed).
  • Support member community and conference activities, including planning, preparation, and presentation.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Expertise
  • 7-10 years of experience with full stack web application development.
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience and ability to teach necessary skills to direct reports.
  • Proficiency using C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular or similar client-side framework (React, Vue).
  • Experience with AWS and serverless technology.
  • Experience with AWS Cloud Development.
  • Experience with .NET 6/8, .NET Framework 4.7.2+, ASP.NET MVC and ASP.NET Core (Razor).
  • Proficiency with SQL databases.
  • Experience working in a shared code environment, Git and source control such as BitBucket and GitHub.
  • Expertise in modern REST API usage and development.
  • Experience managing deployment environments, software releases and versioning.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time, while maintaining sharp attention to detail.
  • Proven aptitude in analyzing business needs to conceive, design, and develop innovative solutions.
  • Strong experience writing detailed and thorough technical requirements.
