Job Summary
We are hiring a Vice President of New Member Sales to build a more disciplined, more predictable, and more scalable new-logo growth engine at Tessitura. This is a player-coach role for an experienced commercial B2B SaaS sales leader. You will lead the New Member Sales and Solutions teams, personally carry and close strategic opportunities, and install the process, structure, and operating rhythm the function needs to produce consistently. Solutions - our technical pre-sales function covering sales engineering, solution design, technical validation, and proposal support - is central to how sellers win, and its connectivity into the sales process is a core part of this role. This role reports to the Chief Growth Officer. What You'll Do
- Design and execute a focused new-logo (net-new account) sales strategy that produces qualified pipeline and recurring revenue.
- Personally lead and close strategic opportunities; spend meaningful time in the field with prospective members.
- Lead, coach, and strengthen the New Member Sales and Solutions teams, raising the team's overall sales execution and effectiveness.
- Install clear qualification standards, stage criteria, forecasting discipline, and operating rhythm.
- Ensure Sales and Solutions work together across discovery, demonstration, technical validation, and proposal.
- Build strong outbound and account-based capabilities in partnership with Marketing, including how the team identifies markets, builds territory plans, and creates new paths to engagement.
- Improve pipeline coverage, conversion, cycle time, forecast accuracy, and seller productivity.
- Partner closely with Marketing, Product Marketing, Revenue Operations, Sales Enablement, Product, Revenue Operations, Finance, Legal, Consulting, Support, and Member Success.
- Partner with Member Success on renewal support needs from Solutions, while looking for opportunities for increased efficiencies over time.
- Partner with Finance, Legal, Product, Consulting, and Member Success on pricing, deal structure, feasibility, and clean handovers into delivery.
- Make honest calls on stalled or weak opportunities as needed.
- Serve as a primary voice of the market back into Product and Innovation working helping identify patterns from lost deals, competitive positioning, and buyer objections into clear, prioritized input to guide product direction and roadmap.
What Success Looks Like (12–18 Months)
- A credible, focused new-logo (net-new account) strategy with measurable pipeline and revenue outcomes.
- A repeatable sales motion with clear stage discipline and forecast accuracy.
- Stronger Sales and Solutions capability - hunter strength, better discovery and demos, integrated deal execution.
- Personal contribution to the creation and closing of strategic opportunities.
- Clean handovers and strong alignment across Marketing, Product, Legal, Finance, Consulting, and Member Success.
What You Bring
- Significant experience leading new-logo sales in a commercial B2B SaaS company.
- A record of building, rebuilding, or scaling a SaaS sales function and improving new-business revenue.
- Personal deal ownership at the strategic or complex end, you need to also close, not just manage.
- Experience leading or closely partnering with sales engineering or a solutions function.
- Fluency in SaaS operating practices: ARR, pipeline coverage, qualification, conversion, velocity, forecasting, and deal structure.
- Experience creating a repeatable sales motion, not just relying on relationships, referrals, or inbound alone.
- Strong prospecting and relationship-development skills, with credibility to engage senior executives and lead complex buying conversations.
- Effective cross-functional partnership with Marketing, Product, Revenue Operations, Finance, Legal, Consulting, Support, and Customer Success.
- Strong judgment about what to promise, negotiate, escalate, or decline.
- Experience with management and forecasting with a commercial sales CRM.
- Direct people-management experience setting expectations, giving performance feedback, and coaching team members through key sales skills.
- A track record of managing sellers directly, from running structured 1:1s, coaching skill and behavior gaps in real time, and creating individual development plans that accelerate performance.
- Comfort operating as a strategic partner to Product, translating field and competitive insights into input that helps shape roadmap priorities.
- You see product feedback as essential to the role’s success, but you also understand which patterns from the field are signals worth escalating and which are noise, and you can make that case credibly to Product leadership.
- Arts & culture or non-profit industry experience is a plus, but not required. We're prioritizing proven success building a new-logo growth engine in commercial SaaS.
How You Lead
You lead from the front. You are equally comfortable setting strategy, inspecting pipeline, coaching a team member through a deal, sitting across from a prospect, and negotiating terms. You manage with visibility, not oversight, staying close enough to coach and unblock, while giving team members ownership of their deals and the ability to play to their strengths. You bring urgency without chaos, and you understand that strong selling means winning the right business and setting the conditions for a long member relationship.Travel
Frequent travel is essential. You will spend meaningful time in the field with prospective members, on strategic pursuits, coaching alongside the team, and representing Tessitura at industry events. Travel will vary based on opportunity activity and the industry calendar, with periods of heavier travel throughout the year. How to apply
