Job Summary:
The Cloud Services team maintains Tessitura Network's mission-critical cloud platform serving 800+ organizations worldwide. As part of the Reliability & Operations team reporting to the Manager of Cloud Operations, the Cloud Operations Engineer 1 maintains and monitors the application-layer services that support Tessitura's cloud platform. This role focuses on platform applications such as Microsoft SQL Server, Citrix environments, SFTP services, file shares, MFA systems, and other critical support tools that enable customer operations.
Working under the guidance of senior team members, the Cloud Operations Engineer 1 follows established procedures while developing foundational knowledge of these applications in cloud environments. The ideal applicant will have strong technical aptitude and a willingness to learn through hands-on assignments. This role collaborates closely with Core Cloud Services, Cloud Automation, and Database & Application Services teams to ensure seamless integration of application services with the broader cloud infrastructure while contributing to platform reliability and operational excellence.

Application Operations & Maintenance:
  • Assist with installation, configuration, and maintenance of application services and infrastructure in AWS cloud environments
  • Help maintain Citrix virtual application and desktop delivery environments under supervision
  • Support SFTP services and secure file transfer solutions following documented procedures
  • Participate in managing cloud-based file shares and storage systems
  • Assist with implementation and maintenance of MFA and identity management solutions
  • Perform routine operational tasks and maintenance on platform support applications
  • Support backup and recovery processes for critical applications
Monitoring & Incident Response:
  • Monitor application health and respond to basic alerts according to established runbooks
  • Assist in troubleshooting application issues and implementing documented fixes
  • Participate in scheduled maintenance windows for platform applications under guidance
  • Learn cloud-hosted application architectures through hands-on work and mentoring
  • Assist with user access management for platform applications
Documentation & Process Improvement:
  • Help maintain application documentation and operational procedures
  • Participate in basic Infrastructure as Code activities by following established patterns
  • Follow defined processes for incident and change management
  • Document operational activities and contribute to knowledge base maintenance
Collaboration & Development:
  • Work collaboratively with Platform Reliability & Operations team members
  • Collaborate with Core Cloud Services, Cloud Automation, and Database & Application Services teams
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to operational discussions
  • Engage in continuous learning and skill development activities
Operational Excellence:
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule, once fully trained on application operations
  • Follow established security controls and compliance measures for platform applications
  • Support performance monitoring and optimization initiatives
  • Travel up to two times per year for meetups and conferences as needed


Required Skills and Experience:
  • 1-2 years experience with enterprise application operations or related technical support role
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft SQL Server, Windows Server environments, and database concepts
  • Familiarity with cloud computing concepts, preferably AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, etc.)
  • Experience with ticketing or service management systems (Jira, ServiceNow, etc.)
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures and documentation accurately
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to following established processes
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server and basic networking concepts
  • Basic understanding of IT compliance, information security, and risk management principles
  • Clear and concise oral and written communication skills to all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members and accept guidance from senior staff
  • Effective collaboration with peers, cross-functional teams, and team leaders to achieve end-to-end product and process quality


Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with the Tessitura application or similar CRM/ticketing systems
  • Basic scripting experience with PowerShell, Bash, or similar technologies
  • Familiarity with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops or similar virtualization platforms
  • Understanding of SFTP, file transfer protocols, and secure file management
  • Basic knowledge of multi-factor authentication and identity management systems
  • Experience with AWS services and cloud-based application management
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code concepts (CloudFormation, Terraform)
  • Previous experience in a 24/7 operational environment
  • Knowledge of monitoring and logging systems
  • Experience with database administration or SQL query basics
  • Understanding of backup and disaster recovery concepts
