The Managed Services division maintains our mission critical hosted environments for 200+ organizations world-wide. 

Job Description:

Under the direction of the Manager, Systems Administration, assist the Managed Services team with maintaining and monitoring the hosted environment. Responsible for the care and feeding of the hosted environments, new server builds, networking devices, SQL database, client user interface, customer-facing web e-commerce path and other web related services within the hosted environment. Customer support to hosted users, Network staff and authorized contractors to ensure satisfaction in the use of hosted network applications and tools.

Managed Services, System Administrator Responsibilities:

  • Installing, upgrading and troubleshooting Windows servers
  • Apply operating system (OS) patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities
  • Build, configure, monitor and maintain VMware and Citrix environments
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs
  • Administer servers and related applications, including VMWare, Microsoft Windows Server and Citrix, to provide a responsive and consistent computing environment.
  • Manage and maintain periodic (e.g., daily, weekly, monthly, annual) data backups for servers, and network infrastructure.
  • Install new software releases from vendors and system upgrades
  • Create, update, and audit documentation as required

  • Provides Tier 3 support for escalations
  • Engages and escalates to vendors for service restoration
  • Follows defined processes for incident and change management. 
  • Participates in a rotating on-call schedule for after-hours support
  • Supports new hosted Tessitura installations and software version upgrades
  • Assume assignments for Tessitura’s annual user conference

Required Skills:

  • Thorough knowledge of Windows Server, IIS, Citrix, Active Directory, storage and backup devices, VMWare, and other solutions as necessary to fulfill job responsibilities.
  • Working knowledge of an enterprise monitoring applications such as PRTG and AppDynamics
  • Analytical/problem solving skills.
  • Familiar with ITIL/ITSM processes such as Change Management, Incident Management, Lifecycle Management, etc.
  • Clear and concise oral and written communication to all levels of the organization.
  • Effectively organize and prioritize work.
  • Simultaneously manage and deliver tasks for multiple projects.
  • Works independently and as a team member in a high performance 24/7 availability environment
  • Effectively collaborates with peers, cross-functional teams and team leaders to achieve end-to-end product and process quality.
  • Exercises discretion and judgment to ensure all Operational Service Levels are met.
