Tessitura Technical Services Consultant

The Tessitura Technical Services ("Tech Services") department is tasked with providing technical and functional Tessitura expertise to Tessitura members. Reporting to a Tech Services Director, the Tessitura Services Consultant will assist existing Tessitura clients with their Tessitura administration needs, including tasks typically handled by an in-house Tessitura Administrator. This will likely involve assignments of various duration's – some short and situation based, others more long-term “retainer” assignments. Tasks will include such duties as development of custom reports, procedures, outputs, or screens; helping provide internal management of Tessitura upgrades; assistance with complex Extractions and other Outputs; and best practice advice with Tessitura configuration.


  • Serve as Tessitura Administrator resource for projects related to Tessitura Network member systems.
  • Enhance system functionality via creation of custom reports, stored procedures, custom views and queries using Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Server Reporting Services and other tools.
  • Assist client needs related to Extractions, Output Sets and other advanced Tessitura functionality.
  • Develop strong, trusting relationships with Tessitura licensees; ensure comprehensive and timely communications with Tessitura licensees.
  • Program database migrations and integrations between disparate data sources
  • Develop, test and deploy SQL Server reporting and integration solutions
  • Support, train and document work completed
  • Respond in a timely and appropriate manner to user requests


  • Bachelor’s degree and four (4) years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience writing queries, stored procedures, views and other database objects with Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services experience.


  • Strong and demonstrated interpersonal, communications and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong and demonstrated ability to work calmly, effectively and flexibly with a large number of clients/licensees, staff and other professionals representing a wide diversity of personalities.
  • Ability to grasp new technical material quickly and explain it to non-technical clients or audiences.
  • Ability to work on a wide variety of complicated tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to meet deadlines and follow schedules.
  • Ability to work in a team setting, as well as independently.
